OW Bunker Open a Second Office in China
In response to a growing customer base in the region, one of the world's largest independent marine fuel supplier and trader OW Bunker has announced the opening of a second office in China.
The WRIST Group company, having a presence in China since 2006 when the Shanghai office was opened, is expecting the new office to capitalize on opportunities resulting from the strong growth in the Asian markets.
Despite relative worldwide economic stagnation, the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) countries are currently enjoying continued growth.
Industry analysts have noted that the BRICs appear to be key to OW Bunker's growth strategy, with the firm having launched new operations in both India and Brazil in 2011.
Speaking on the new Beijing office, OW Bunker Executive Vice President, Götz Lehsten indicated: "This is an important development for OW Bunker, as China is naturally key to our strategic growth plans. Asia, and in particular, China is central to fueling the global economy."
According to the company's website, OW Bunker is currently represented in 24 countries and commands eight percent (8%) of the global bunker market.
