Another Player Exits Singapore Bunker Market After BDN Misuse
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) today said that with immediate effect it has cancelled the bunker supplier and bunker craft operator licences of Coteam Petroleum Trading Pte Ltd (Coteam Petroleum Trading) having found the company to have misused its bunker delivery notes (BDN)s.
The firm was said to have breached Clause 3 of the terms and conditions of the Bunkering Licence (Bunker Supplier) by allowing other companies to use their Bunker Delivery Notes to supply bunkers, as well as Clause 31 of the terms and conditions of the Bunkering Licence (Bunker Craft Operator) for delivering bunkers on behalf of an unlicensed company to customers of that company.
As all bunker suppliers operating in the Port of Singapore are required to be licensed by MPA, Coteam Petroleum Trading will no longer be able to operate in the port.
Coteam Petroleum Trading join Excel Petroleum Enterprise Pte Ltd and Lian Hoe Leong & Brothers Pte Ltd who in January also had their licences cancelled for BDN misuse.
There are currently 63 accredited bunker suppliers in Singapore.
For 2013 Coteam Petroleum Trading was ranked 37th on the MPA's list of bunker suppliers by volume.
