Korea Gas Corp (Kogas) is in talks with the Japan Gas Association over a move to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkers to vessels operating on the South Korea-Japan ferry route, according to a report in the Japan Times.

Speaking at a conference in Singapore this week, senior Kogas manager Young Lee was reported to have said the gas firm has already been in discussions over a pilot supply project.

Kogas may also supply China and Japan with LNG bunkers from its terminals in South Korea, Lee added.

The gas company said in April that it had begun to supply LNG bunkers to Asia's first LNG-powered passenger ship, Econuri, at Incheon Port.
