Bunker Saving Tech Firm Marorka Appoints New CEO

Icelandic marine energy management and fleet performance company, Marorka, Monday announced that Juergen Kudritzki will take over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

"As Marorka moves to the next level of its growth strategy, Juergen Kudritzki's knowledge and experience will be invaluable in building on the solid foundation and momentum achieved under [outgoing CEO] Ole Skatka Jensen," Marorka said.

Kudritzki was previously the technical director at German shipowner E.R. Schiffahrt and general manager of BestShip, a subsidiary of E.R. Schiffahrt, which focuses on vessel modification and performance improvements.

According to Marorka, Kudritzki brings, "a great depth of operational experience of container, bulk and heavy lift vessels, he has extensive practical knowledge in the areas of fleet performance and energy efficiency."

"Juergen will focus on further integrating Marorka's products and service offerings to deliver savings that fit the business models and enhance the operations of each of our marine customers," said the release.

Kudritzki was quoted as saying that his vision for Marorka, "is to expand our focus on energy management and develop an overall operation performance management platform. We have the capability to bring full transparency to complex operational processes."

In September 2015 Ship & Bunker reported on a deal that will see Nordic Tankers A/S use Marorka's online fleet efficiency service.
