Monjasa Opens New Panama Office
Denmark-based bunker company Monjasa A/S has announced that it will open a new location in Panama City to cater to its growing number of Central and South American clients.
The office is expected to become operational beginning in February with between five and ten bunker traders and back-office staff, and will be located near the Port of Balboa.
"Besides being one of the world’s biggest hubs for ship traffic, Panama brings numerous operational advantages," said General Manager for Monjasa Americas, Rasmus Jacobsen.
These include access to competent workers at globally competitive terms and an attractive infrastructure allowing short distances and multiple flight connections to the biggest Latin American airports.”
Monjasa expanded operations into the Panama Canal in February of 2014 and will be launching additional South American services soon, according to Jacobsen.
Jacobsen himself is to relocate to Panama City from the U.S.
Another bunkering company, Glander International Bunkering, also recently expanded in South America, having announced plans to add a handful of former OW Bunker traders to its Brazil team.
