Glander International Bunkering (GIB) Thursday announced that it has merged with Scandinavian Bunkering AS (Scandinavian Bunkering), which will now be re-named to Glander International Bunkering (Norway) AS as a result.

Both companies are part of the Bunker Holding Group.

GIB says the merger will give the two entities access to new and improved resources, with GIB gaining an office in Norway and extended office in Singapore.

The Norway office will mark GIB's second office in Europe, and is said to represent GIB's aim of increasing its geographical coverage and maximising its responsiveness to its clients with an increased worldwide representation.

"We are proud to announce the expansion of our global network to Norway, heralding the second European country that Glander International Bunkering will be operating in. The union of Glander International Bunkering and Scandinavian Bunkering AS will reinforce the group’s core values and in turn develop customer benefits," said Christoffer Berg Lassen, Managing Director and CEO of GIB.

"The Norwegian office will not only represent a new geographical area for service but reinforces the group’s stance as a serious international market player."

It is noted that all traders from Scandinavian Bunkering and Scandinavian Bunkering (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., will continue on and will maintain their same phone numbers, although email domains will change.

"By merging we are initiating the best set up for the future and together we will be able to deliver a remarkably streamlined international service," said Erik Rankin Vinde, Managing Director of Scandinavian Bunkering, who is set to run operations at Glander International Bunkering (Norway) AS.

"We will be bringing with us a team of industry leading traders, who are valued across the globe for their skills, results and experience."

GIB itself was formed in 2013 when International Bunkering acquired U.S. bunker trading and brokering firm Glander International.
