Russia's SCF Group (SCF), under its joint "Green Funnel" project with Shell Gas & Power (Shell), has placed an order for four 114,000 DWT liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered newbuildings from South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), Tradewinds reports.

The vessels, which are said to be set to become the world’s first LNG-fuelled Aframax tanker newbuildings, will be supplied with LNG bunkers under a supply agreement with Shell.

While SCF has not detailed the price of the vessels, this information is expected to be provided as part of a formal announcement from the yard.
