Total Lubmarine's (Lubmarine) has announced in an emailed press release that its line of Bioneptan lubricants has received approval from marine sealing technology producer Kemel

Lubmarine's Bioneptan line which are classed as environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs), is designed for vessels' stern tubes.

The lubricants also meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP) regulations.

The products are now approved for use on all Kemel seals of all diameters, said the company.

"Kemel's comprehensive approval comes after a year of demanding sea trials using the Bioneptan range on-board almost 200 vessels," said Lubmarine Global Marketing Manager Serge Dal Farra.

"Total Lubmarine technicians remained in close contact and co-operated strongly with Kemel throughout the trial period."

The products are currently in the process of being made available at all shipping hubs, the company added.

Last year Lubmarine also launched a new lubricant specifically designed for slow speed two stroke engines running distillate fuels with a 0.10 percent sulfur content for Emission Control Area (ECA) compliance.
