Bunker Detectives Launch New Operation in Fujairah, Rebrand to Petro Inspect

Marine surveying and consultancy company The Bunker Detectives has been rebranded as Petro Inspect.

Marine surveying and consultancy company The Bunker Detectives has launched a new operation based in Fujairah, and the global business has been rebranded as Petro Inspect, CEO and Founder Kaivan Chinoy has told Ship & Bunker.

"The renaming of the company to Petro Inspect will better capture its philosophy and value proposition, as well as bring all global operations under one brand," said Chinoy.

"Some of our customers request surveys under the name of our parent company, AVA Marine, while the Bunker Detectives brand is unable to be used in certain global locations.

"The new Petro Inspect name will also help customers remember we do much more than just Bunker Detective Surveys."

Chinoy noted that the trademarks and trading names of Bunker Detective will remain in force and the name will be able to be used interchangeably with Petro Inspect to suit client needs, according to the vessel's geographical location, and whether the survey is carried out on behalf of the charterers or owners.

"Our management and employee structure remains the same, meaning that we shall continue to carry out bunker surveys with a high level of integrity, upholding the same level of strictness," he added.

"All our surveyors are highly paid professionals with proper safety gear, equipment, are 100 percent covered for all liability and medical risks, and thus they have too much to lose to accept or get involved in any unethical behaviour."

In addition to its existing offices in Canada, Singapore, and Panama, and the new expanded Fujairah location for the Middle East markets including Saudi Arabia and Turkey, Chinoy say the company now has a strong presence in China and Malaysia.

"We regularly also fly to as far as Australia and South Korea from our Asia location, and from Panama we are covering much of Latin and South American ports up to Peru and far South as Brazil," he added.

"From UAE we are covering much of the Middle East including India."
