Inver Energy (UK) Limited (Inver Energy) has brought in Stockton-on Tees, UK based px group (PX) to operate its Cardiff, UK fuel terminal so it can concentrate on developing its inland and marine fuel sales through the terminal, local media reported Monday.

The multi-million pound "long term" contract will also see the transfer of eight employees to px group.

The Welsh terminal, which was said to have been in operation for more than 50 years, last year supplied 300 million litres of petrol, diesel, heavy fuel, kerosene, and various additives to the market.

"By outsourcing operations we are able to free ourselves from day to day management and focus on our core business," Inver Energy commercial director Tony Wilson was quoted as saying.

"We are looking forward to further demonstrating our expertise on site by helping Inver Energy to maximise value and control costs," commented PX Operations Director, Ian Clifford.

PX is now the named duty holder at the plant that underwent significant improvements last year after becoming a COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) site in 2008.

The terminal is a 24 hour operation, has 26 storage tanks, and can receive fuel by road, rail, and sea for storage and redistribution by road.

Inver Energy currently provides long term handling and storage at the Cardiff site for fuel firms Mabanaft and Greenergy.
