Recently formed liquefied natural gas (LNG) Bunker NGO, Society for Gas as a Marine Fuel (SGMF), says it recently recruited 2 new technical advisers, Klas Ljungmark and David Haynes, and added John Saunders as its Brand, Marketing and Membership Manager.

In the emailed press release, SGMF said Ljungmark joined from Sweden as a Principal Technical Advisor where he was working for the Swedish Maritime Authority.

Specialising in Gas as a Marine fuel, he has been deeply involved in the Viking Grace LNG cruise ship project.

Haynes, who will join SGMF as Principal Technical Advisor effective June 2, 2014, has spent 28 years in the gas industry including 16 years working full time on all aspects of LNG including liquefaction plants, import terminals, small facilities, and more latterly, floating LNG.

Saunders recently joined as the Brand, Marketing and Membership Manager, having spent the last 5 years working for IMarEST (Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology) in several roles.

"It is not easy to find individuals, then, like waiting for a bus three come along at once! Now we can really gain traction with the industry and provide both SGMF Members and the public with the quality information and guidance it needs for this complex but exciting development for the Maritime Industry," commented SGMF General Manager Mark Bell.

SGMF was formed last year, saying at the time it would be focused on the safe and responsible use of LNG bunkers.
