A bunker spill is said to have resulted after a storm caused the grounding of the 2,736 DWT car carrier Ocean Tango in Busan, South Korea Sunday, local media reports.

The vessel, which was docked in the Yeong-gu area at the time of the incident, is said to have had its fuel tanks ruptured during the grounding, although the current condition of the vessel has not been reported.

The ship is said to be owned by Duwon Shipping Co Limited, and is noted to have been carrying about 100 tonnes of bunkers at the time of the grounding.

Authorities are reported to have launched mitigation work to contain the spill, although rough weather is said to be interfering with the efforts.
