MPA Grants MFM Approval to Another Bunker Vessel

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has approved another bunkering vessel's mass flow meter (MFM) for use during MFO bunkering, the first such approval of 2017, MPA records show.
The 2,673 GT tanker Sea Swift, owned and operated by Hong Lam Marine Pte Ltd (Hong Lam Marine), received MPA's MFM approval for bunkering on January 3, 2017.
Despite the approval of the additional bunkering vessel for MFM bunkering, data correct to January 6, 2017 indicates the total number of MFM approved tankers has fallen to 132, down from 135 last month.
Effective January 1, 2017, Singapore requires the use of a mass flow meter for all MFO bunkering.
