Fuel supplier Oryx will start bunkering operations in the Canary Islands beginning November 2014, Platts reports

According to unnamed sources, the company has "bought a 45,000 mt HSFO cargo from Brofjorden for October 25-30 loadings," in addition to discharging marine gas oil in Las Palmas last week.

One Las Palmas trader also said that they had received their first quote to supply earlier this week for November 5-10, 2014.

A source for Oryx reportedly confirmed in September that operations were originally slated for mid-October, though the date now seems to be pushed back.

A new oil terminal was opened in Las Palmas last month to provide storage capacity by Oryx Energies, a subsidiary of Malta-based AOG

At the time, the company described the facility as having " a long, deep water jetty and a design that offers flexibility and fast loading/discharging rates for a wide variety of vessels and shipping operators."

Addax and Oryx Group was renamed to AOG last year.
