Monjasa Group (Monjasa) Thursday announced that, over the last year as part of efforts to consolidate its physical operations in North Western Europe, the company has established exclusive oil terminal operations and bunkering facilities in Portland Port, Tongue Anchorage, and set up an office in London.

Monjasa says it is ready for operations at Tongue Anchorage "immediately" and can provide customers with IFO and and MGO to 8217:2010 specifications.

"Extended bunkering operations at Tongue Anchorage further tightens the Monjasa Group's European physical supply operations, which stretch from the Baltic Sea to the English Channel," said Monjasa.

Monjasa notes that Tongue Anchorage was strategically selected for Monjasa operations due to its convenient location to London's main freight routes, enabling the company to serve south and northbound vessels with little deviation in time.

The Tongue Anchorage will be available to customers for bunkering on a 24/7 basis, says Monjasa, noting that pilotage is not required for refueling operations there.

"With this extended set-up in the English Channel, we are underlining our capability of offering supply security throughout the region, matching our customers' needs. Furthermore, we are exploiting further synergies with our existing physical set-ups in Portland Port, UK, the Port of Skagen, Denmark, and in Riga, Latvia," said Ricky Kenbjerg, Managing Director for Monjasa Europe.

"The aim is to benefit our customers, by offering flexibility on a string of supply locations," explains Ricky Kenbjerg, Managing Director for Monjasa Europe."

Monjasa says it recently reached an exclusive agreement with the Thames Fishermens' Association, in association with Portland Bunkers (PBUK), that meets all Port of London requirements for the local oil spill response plans, and will provide overall direction for the counter-pollution response service management.

In August, Monjasa announced that it had established a new $80 million credit facility with Société Générale S.A..
