Jotun Group (Jotun) has announced that its Hull Performance & Insight Conference (HullPIC) will focus on the new ISO 19030 standard and advances in measurements of hull and propeller performance.

As Ship & Bunker has previously reported, Jotun and DNV GL have invited industry stakeholders to attend the second HullPIC, which the two companies will be hosting at Germany's Castle Ulrichshusen, from March 27 to 29, 2017.

"The event is community-like and provides a great opportunity for the delegates to discuss and share advances, challenges and opportunities in this important field," said Geir Axel Oftedahl, Director of Business Development at Jotun Marine and project manager of the ISO 19030 working group.

"Our inaugural seminar held in Italy last year was a great success. We look forward to welcoming industry stakeholders to pick up from where we left last year and further discussing the new ISO standard and related topics."

As Ship & Bunker has previously reported, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) published ISO 19030 in November.

In addition to ISO 19030, the conference will feature presentations and discussions on biofouling management, how monitoring reporting solutions are impacted by the European Union (EU) Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) regulation, as well as alternative approaches to measuring hull and propeller performance.

"HullPIC is a great place to share operational experience and discuss challenges within hull performance monitoring. The balance between shipowners and developers at the conference allows for an open exchange where both sides benefit," said Volker Bertram, Senior Project Manager of DNV GL – Maritime's Competence, Learning & Academy.
