Bunkering operations at the Port of Gibraltar were halted Wednesday on bad weather, Platts reports.

"There are eight vessels waiting outside Gibraltar waters waiting for bunkering. This is because bunkering operations have been recently suspended in the anchorage due to bad weather, creating a backlog of vessels," a spokesperson told Platts, noting that only bunkering operations have been impacted.

Gibraltar's Met Office issued a strong wind warning that was expected to extend into Thursday morning, causing moderate to rough sea conditions.

"The easterly wind wind will increase at times overnight to mean 20 to 25 kts with occasional gusts 30 to 35 kts," noted the port authority.

This is the second time in less than a month that Gibraltar has halted its bunkering operations due to bad weather.
