Small Movements for US Gulf and Caribbean Bunker Prices
Bunker prices in the Americas were fairly steady today, and the movements that were made tended to be small. Los Angeles / Long Beach and New Orleans IFO380 moved up for a second consecutive day, and Ship & Bunker data showed Houston saw a third day of increases for the grade. Markets in South America continued to remain mostly unchanged.
Houston IFO380 rose $0.50 to $629.00 per metric tonne (pmt), $4.00 higher compared to last Tuesday, and up $15.00 since December 24, 2012. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) remained at $726.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $97.50 pmt. MGO climbed $3.50 to $1012.00 pmt, down $0.50 week-on-week.
LA / Long Beach IFO380 rose $2.50 to $629.00 pmt, $12.50 lower week-on-week, and down $2.50 since this time last month. LS380 rose $0.50 to $763.00 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $134.00 pmt. MGO in the port was up $2.00 to $1031.00 pmt, $7.00 lower than last Tuesday.
New Orleans IFO380 climbed $2.50 to $639.00 pmt, up $3.00 week-on-week, and $13.50 higher than December 24, 2012. LS380 was down $3.00 to $732.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $93.50 pmt. MGO in New Orleans dropped $2.50 to $1016.50 pmt, an increase of $6.00 since last Tuesday.
Vancouver IFO380 moved down for the first time since January 11, 2013 falling $2.00 to $636.50 pmt, up $1.50 week-on-week, and $4.50 higher than December 24, 2012. LS380 moved up $1.00 to $876.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $239.50 pmt. MGO was down $6.00 to $1062.00 pmt, losing $10.50 week-on-week.
