New year bunker prices were up in North America and the Caribbean according to Ship & Bunker price data, while markets were quiet in South America with few changes.

Houston IFO380 rose $0.50 to $620.50 per metric tonne (pmt), gaining $6.00 week-on-week, and up $9.00 from December 3, 2012. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) was up $2.50 to $720.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $100.00 pmt. MGO climbed $0.50 to $1018.50 pmt, up $13.50 from last Wednesday.

LA / Long Beach IFO380 rose $5.50 to $633.00 pmt, $1.50 higher than this time last week, and $30.00 lower month-on-month. LS380 was up $6.50 to $747.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $114.00 pmt. MGO moved up $4.00 to $1045.50 pmt, gaining $13.50 week-on-week.

New Orleans IFO380 moved up $1.00 to $634.00 pmt, rising $8.00 from last Wednesday, and $3.00 higher than December 3, 2012. LS380 moved up $0.50 to $726.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $92.00 pmt. MGO in the port dropped $4.00 to $1009.50 pmt, making a $7.50 week-on-week gain.

Vancouver IFO380 climbed $1.50 to $636.50 pmt, a $4.00 increase from last Wednesday, and down $14.00 compared to this time last month. LS380 was up $5.50 to $892.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $256.00 pmt. MGO in Vancouver climbed $1.50 to $1079.00 pmt, $6.50 higher than last Wednesday.
