Bunker Prices in the Americas Make Gains Tuesday
Bunker prices in the Americas were generally firm, with Ship & Bunker data showing Los Angeles / Long Beach IFO380 continue to trend up to reach its highest price since November 30, 2012.
Houston IFO380 moved up for a fourth consecutive day gaining $2.50 to $637.00 per metric tonne (pmt), $8.00 higher than last Tuesday, and up $17.00 since December 31, 2012. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) rose $2.00 to $733.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $96.50 pmt. MGO moved up $4.50 to $1024.00 pmt, the highest price since October 30, 2012.
LA / Long Beach IFO380 rose for a seventh consecutive day up $4.50 to $663.00 pmt, the highest price in the past month, and a week-on-week gain of $34.00. LS380 climbed $2.50 to $783.00 making the premium for the low sulfur product $120.00 pmt. MGO in the port climbed $5.50 to $1048.50 pmt, up $17.50 since last Tuesday.
New Orleans IFO380 climbed for a fourth consecutive day gaining $1.50 to $643.00 pmt, up $4.00 week-on-week, and an increase of $10.00 since December 31, 2012. LS380 climbed $2.50 to $738.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $95.50 pmt. MGO in New Orleans moved up $3.00 to $1023.00 pmt, the highest price in the past month.
Vancouver IFO380 moved up $3.00 to $643.00 pmt, the highest price since December 5, 2012, and gaining $6.50 week-on-week. LS380 dropped $2.00 to $878.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $235.50 pmt. MGO moved up $7.00 to $1078.00 pmt, an increase of $16.00 since last Tuesday.
