Bunker prices in the Americas continued to make gains today, with Ship & Bunker data showing almost all ports in the region make gains. Ports in South America typically added between $4.00 and $7.00 per metric tonne (pmt) to all products.
Houston IFO380 climbed for a sixth consecutive market day up $1.50 to $640.50 pmt, having steadily moving up $11.00 since last Thursday, and an increase of $20.50 month-on-month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) climbed $0.50 to $738.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $97.50 pmt. MGO was up $2.50 to $1029.50 pmt, $12.00 higher week-on-week.
LA / Long Beach IFO380 moved up for a ninth consecutive market day rising $2.50 to $667.00 pmt, up $29.50 since last Thursday, and $39.50 higher than this time last month. LS380 was up $2.00 to $785.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $118.00 pmt. MGO fell for the first time since January 24, 2013 dropping $2.50 to $1054.50 pmt, up $22.00 week-on-week.
New Orleans IFO380 climbed for a sixth consecutive market day up $3.50 to $648.00 pmt, $8.00 higher than last Thursday, and up $15.00 month-on-month. LS380 was up $2.50 to $744.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $96.00 pmt. MGO in the port climbed $4.00 to $1030.50 pmt, rising $12.50 since last this time last week.
Vancouver IFO380 moved up for a fourth consecutive day rising $4.00 to $650.00 pmt, $11.00 higher than last Thursday, and up $14.50 since December 31, 2012. LS380 climbed $4.00 to $889.00 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $239.00 pmt. MGO in Vancouver moved up $6.00 to $1091.50 pmt, an increase of $25.00 week-on-week.
