Varun Shipping, an Indian shipper that has been facing financial difficulties, had one of its ships arrested in Singapore last week, according to the Singapore Supreme Court.

The Aframax tanker Amba Bhargavi was arrested February 7 at 9:20 p.m., according to the court's list of ship arrests.

The same vessel was also arrested in Singapore on April 29, 2013 for non-payment of wages to the crew, Platts reported at the time.

Varun Shipping had been under threat of license suspension last year, but Indian regulators allowed it to continue operations after it paid outstanding wages and put five liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers for mandatory dry docking, Indian business paper the Economic Times reported in December.

The company said at the time that it was exploring the sale of its offshore services subsidiary to raise money for its core LPG business.
