Suppliers last week were facing severe delivery delays in the wake of bunker fuel oil operations resuming at the Russian Black Sea port of NovorossiiskPlatts reports.

On Thursday a trader told the energy news service that "Bunker deliveries have been suspended for a total of six days due to several storm warnings."

Another source remarked that "a few vessels have left to Turkish ports for bunkers, being unable to wait longer for working weather."

Platts data reveals that the delays caused Novorossiisk spot bunker prices to climb to notably high levels for prompt deliveries, with 380 CST HSFO assessed at $360.50/mt on April 22.

Another storm warning had been issued for April 25, which could cause further delivery problems, said the traders.

Last week traders said it was "very hard to find supply for prompt dates" following two storm warnings.
