Skangas AS (Skangas) today announced that its new liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker vessel, Coralius, has bunkered LNG to a vessel - the Furetank Rederi AB (Furetank) tanker Fure West - for the first time.

The bunkering operation was carried out in the international waters of Northern Kattegat, located in the middle of the sea between Frederikshavn, Denmark and Gothenburg, Sweden.

"The bunkering of Fure West confirmed that Coralius delivers in accordance with what she is built for," said Kimmo Rahkamo, CEO of Skangas.

"This is a key milestone in our history of developing the LNG availability. We are happy working together with our customer Furetank for this first of several upcoming ship-to-ship bunkerings."

Last week, Ship & Bunker reported that the bunker tanker had made its first trip loading and delivering LNG to and from Norwegian ports.

The 5,800 cubic meter capacity Coralius was delivered to Skangas in June. Skangas also operates LNG carrier Coral Energy.
