In what it says is an effort to keep up with the growing demand for clean diesel and marine lubricants, Maxum Petroleum has announced its newest addition to its fleet of bunker and lube delivery vessels, the Global Pilot.

The new barge is noted to have a MGO capacity of 15,00 Bbls, or 630,000usg, across 8 tanks, a lube oil capacity of 14,000usg in deck mounted ISO tanks, and four segregations of 3,500usg each.

Global Pilot can pump lubricant at a rate of up to 130gpm, although lubricant capacity can be increased to 80,000usg by using the vessel's MGO tanks as well.

Meanwhile, as MarineLog reports, the next addition to Maxum Petroleum's fleet, a 150,000-gallon self-propelled bunkering tanker named Global Provider, is under construction at Jesse Co Metal Fabrication and Machinery in Tacoma, Washington.

"We wanted a vessel that would allow us to quickly and efficiently serve our diesel and lube oil customers in Puget Sound," said Mike Curry of Maxum Petroleum.

"We have 15,000 barrel barge doing the job now but this boat will be more efficiently handle our ATB customers. Most of our customers take smaller deliveries, so the new boat, with its six cargo holds taking 3700 barrels of fuel and 24,000 gallons of lube oil, will fill an important niche."

Global Provider is reported to be slated for delivery later in 2017.
