Fratelli Cosulich Group of Companies is one of the oldest names in the bunker industry, with the family-owned company’s history stretching back to 1857.

The Trieste-headquartered group has more than 2,500 employees worldwide working for 15 separate business units, with a geographical presence in more than 28 countries. It offers a wide range of maritime and logistics services, as well as having interests in less related industries including, among others, steel and IT.

The firm’s wider maritime and infrastructure activities include owning and managing vessels including LNG tankers, technical and crew activities, liner and tramp agency services, freight forwarding, insurance activities, warehousing, trucking and intermodal services, and business and leisure travel.

Fratelli Cosulich has Genoa-based Timothy Cosulich as its CEO.

The company first joined the marine fuel market in 1969, and its bunkering subsidiary Fratelli Cosulich Marine Energy has offices in Italy, Greece, Portugal, the UAE, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Monaco, the US and South Korea. Genoa-based Guido Cardullo serves as the company’s head of marine energy.

The firm handles about 5 million mt of marine fuel sales per year in 2025, down from 5.3 million mt the previous year and from 5.5 million mt in 2023.

The vast majority of the company’s sales come from trading, with Singapore taking up a large share of the company's marine fuel sales.

Nonetheless, the company is also involved in physical supply, with a barge fleet operating in Singapore and two small-scale LNG vessels, deployed in Europe and Southeast Asia

2025 Developments

In 2025 the company took delivery of the Maya Cosulich, the world’s first methanol-powered IMO II chemical bunker tanker, which was chartered out to TFG Marine after its launch in October.

The firm has four more IMO II chemical bunker tankers under construction, due for delivery in 2026 and 2027.

The company also expanded the trading area of its LNG bunker vessels in 2025, with the Alice Cosulich operating in Europe and the Paolina Cosulich in Singapore and Malaysia.

Fratelli Cosulich expanded its marine fuel offering at the Italian port of Genoa in April 2025 to include ULSFO, responding to the implementation of the Mediterranean ECA from May 1.

The company also expanded its sales of biofuel blends in 2025, mainly deliveries of HVO at Italian and Spanish ports, and continued to grow its sales of EUAs for EU-ETS compliance.
