Bunkernet Conference Discusses 2020, LNG Bunkering, and Suez SC Zone

Bunkernet Ltd (Bunkernet) says the sixth Bunkernet Bunker Conference, which was held on April 6 in Limassol, Cyprus, provided attendees with information on challenges and developments related to new regulations from the International Maritime Organization, including the 0.50 percent cap on sulfur in bunkers set for 2020, as well as information on developments in liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering and the Suez SC Zone.

"In this spirit, the aim of the conference, apart from information dissemination, was to create networking opportunities among the participants and initiate discussions on how the industry could see the new challenges as an opportunity for growth and development," explains Bunkernet.

The event is said to have been attended by over 100 regional and internation oil, energy, and shipping professionals.

Speakers at the conference included Admiral Darwish, Vice Minister for the General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone, David Squirrel of Exxon Mobil, George Polychroniou, Executive Director of DEPA S.A. and Project Manager for Poseidon Med II, Nicholas Argyrou, General Manager at Bunkernet, Nicolas Martinez of the Algeciras Port Authority, and Robin Meech, Director of Marine and Energy Consulting Limited.
