The International Maritime Organization (IMO) today announced that the Global Maritime Technology Cooperation Centre Network (GMN) project has issued a call for expressions of interest from individuals within specified organisations to become members of the GMN Project's Global Stakeholder Committee (GSC).

As Ship & Bunker has reported, the initiative, which is funded by the European Union (EU) and run by IMO, brings together selected technology centres into one global network to support capacity building and technology cooperation within the shipping industry to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

"The Global Stakeholder Committee will meet to share ideas and provide long-term strategic guidance. Participation in the stakeholder committee is on a voluntary basis and no fees are paid," explained IMO.

Last month, IMO announced the launch of GMN.IMO.org, a new website for the GMN project that is intended to provide news and information about a major project to support low-carbon shipping.
