Bunker Detectives Go Global

Canadian marine and cargo surveying firm AVA Marine, and it's bunker surveying division, the Bunker Detectives, today announced the opening of a number of new global offices.

Effective October 1, 2013, offices will be open in Rio de Janeiro, Kuwait, Singapore, and Shanghai, the Vancouver based company said in an emailed statement.

"As more and more clients have been approaching us for providing a dedicated marine inspection and bunker stem / bunker detection services in different parts of the world, so it made sense to expand our business in these regions," commented founder and principal surveyor, Kaivan H Chinoy.

"Our objective is to provide both local and international marine organizations, P&I Clubs, ship operators, charterers & bunker brokers, a service which is not only second to none but to be the marine surveying company of choice globally."

"I'm therefore very pleased to be able to announce this new business venture to cater the South American, Middle East and the Far East markets as I believe with our team of highly skilled marine professionals we can make a difference by delivering a uniquely specialist global product and to provide a cost-effective service & solutions to our clients."

The Rio de Janeiro will be headed by Capt. Carlo Rolla and will handle all South American operations, including Mexico and Panama.

The office in Kuwait will be headed by Chief Engineer Mr. Tariq Iqbal, where he would be overseeing the entire bunkering and marine surveying operations in the Middle East region - UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Singapore, where the company said its major line of business was Bunker Stem and Detective surveys, will be headed by Mr. Shaik Ali. This office will also be covering Malaysia.

The office in Shanghai will be overseeing operations all over China - Ningbo, Qingdao, Xiamen, Dalian, Tianjin, and Guangzhou, including secondary ports.
