OW Bunker today announced the launch of a physical bunker supply division in its U.S. operation, and that former Noble Bunkering and Chemoil executives Adrian Tolson and Keith Richardson have joined the independent marine fuel supplier "to drive Physical growth in North America."

The emailed press release said Tolson has been appointed Regional Manager, and Richardson as a Senior Trader for the North American Physical Division.

"I am delighted that Adrian Tolson and Keith Richardson have joined OW Bunker. They have a wealth of industry experience and will play a pivotal role in creating the infrastructure for our new Physical Division in the US, and driving its growth," commented Jan Christensen, Vice President, Physical Division, OW Bunker.

"Their knowledge and understanding of the region will help us to build better and closer relationships with our customers, enabling us to meet their increasing needs and demands," he added.

Tolson said, "Both Keith and I are delighted to be joining OW Bunker as the company looks to develop its footprint in North America. It is a critical time for the region, as ship owners and operators adapt to new regulations."

Prior to joining OW Bunker, Tolson was Vice President, Marine Fuels, Noble Bunkering and also spent many years as Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing for Chemoil.

Richardson was Director of Business Development for Marine Fuels at Noble Bunkers Americas, and also spent four years as Managing Director of Chemoil Latin America in Panama.

OW Bunker said the initial focus of the Connecticut based U.S. Physical Division will be in the U.S. Gulf, creating a platform for further expansion in key ports throughout North America.

"Fuel suppliers have an important role to play in not just meeting market supply and demand, but ensuring that customers' fuel procurement strategies are right for their businesses, cost effective and on the best terms possible. Our focus will be on creating the physical infrastructure that ensure this," said Tolson.

The company announced its expansion into the U.S. in April, and the physical division adds to the company's existing trading arm that saw 5 new U.S. appointments in August.

Earlier this year OW Bunker opened an office in Taiwan and a second office in China.
