The team behind long time Los Angeles and Long Beach-based physical supplier Dolphin Marine Fuels have restarted operations as Pacific Coast Fuels, President Scott Henry has told Ship & Bunker.

"Dolphin Marine Fuels Inc was founded in 1993 by Dave Linville, and it built a great reputation for high quality bunkers and service over many successful years," said Henry.

Some 20 years later, when Linville retired in 2014, the company was acquired by Bunkers International, which then ceased operations last summer.

"The Vopak storage became available, so we were able to restart operations as of February 15 last month with the same personnel, myself and Susan Paynter. Together we have a combined 20 plus years experience running Dolphin Marine Fuels.

"As Pacific Coast Fuels we plan to maintain that same high quality standard, both in terms of service and product, that people know us for from our many years of service."

In terms of product availability, Henry says right now they have RMG380, and can also provide 180 cSt as well as low sulfur fuel oil.

"We will have low sulfur gasoil available most likely from next week," he added.

Pacific Coast Fuels has arranged a two year agreement with Westoil Marine for delivery.
