The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) says clean up operations for a bunker spill fuel that occurred near Kansas City, Missouri were completed on Tuesday.

As Ship & Bunker reported earlier in the week, USCG said it received a report at about 9:26 p.m. on Monday that a fuel tank rupture had led a towing vessel, the Dakota, to discharge 100 gallons of diesel into the Missouri River close to mile marker 360.

A total of 3,000 gallons of oily-water mixture is said to have been removed from the vessel with the help of Terminal Petroleum.

USCG notes that there is no expected impact to the environment, and the cause of the incident is still under investigation.

Today, Ship & Bunker also reported that clean up operations were underway after a towing vessel, Capt. Jim Green, struck a dock near Port Isabel, Texas, releasing an estimated 20,000 gallons of low sulfur diesel fuel into the water.
