Blount Boats Building Bunker Tanker for American Petroleum & Transport

Blount Boats, Inc. has won a contract to build a double hull bunker tanker for American Petroleum & Transport, Inc, reports Marine Log. 

Designed by Farrell & Norton Naval Architects, the ship will be named the Chandra B and will replace the the single-hulled tanker Capt. Log.

The vessel will be equipped with a hydraulic bow thruster and will have a capacity of 56,450 gallons. 

Once completed, the ship will operate in the New York Harbor and in New Jersey

Delivery is currently slated for August 2015.

As of the beginning of this year, all single-hulled tankers should be phased out in the U.S. under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990.
