OW Bunker Expands in North America
Global bunker supplier and trader OW Bunker today announced it has added two new employees to its operations in North America.
According to the emailed press release, Phillip Sissener, who previously worked for a global shipping company in Norwalk, Connecticut in the U.S., is joining the company as a senior account manager at its Stamford, Connecticut office.
Don Morales, a recent graduate of the State University of New York Maritime College with a master's degree in international trade and transportation management, is a new junior trader at the Houston office.
Commenting on the expansion, OW Bunker General Manager Adrian Tolson said:
"The North American market faces significant change over the coming years in terms of regulatory compliance, economic pressures and a number of challenges to regional bunkering that will impact supply and demand.
"We will continue to develop our infrastructure so that we can continue to help and prepare customers to deal effectively with the new market dynamics.
"Having the right people is a key part of this, and as a business with ambition to expand, we will continue to keep our door open to people with the right experience and drive to succeed."
Branch Manager Hans Staal said he was "very pleased" with the new additions to the team, and noted that finding the right people has been key to moving the company's operations in North America forward.
"It is integral that we have people with the knowledge and experience of local and global markets, which, combined with our global network and resources, serves to provide a compelling fuel supply proposition for our customers," he said.
In August, OW Bunker detailed some of the changes it anticipates in the North American market, based on developments including increased shale oil production and the widening of the Panama Canal.
