U.S. fuel innovations company Seachange Group LLC (Seachange) this month said in its inaugural newsletter that testing of its new Eco-Hybrid Fuel (EHF) is going well.

Seachange was recently awarded a patent for EHF which is a mix of fuel oil, glycerol and non-ionic surfactants.

EHF is being tested on Quickwater, a 40-foot work vessel operated by the Maine Maritime Academy, under a research programme sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transport and the Maine Technology Institute

"To date, all testing is going well, and we are looking forward to analysing the data," said Seachange.

EHF is said to meet U.S. environmental rules for marine fuel emissions.

Earlier in October, Gevo Inc. said its new biofuel blends were being supplied to Gulf Racing Fuels as they had shown high performance as well as adherence to emissions rules.
