APT Sees Keel Laid for Newest LNG-Ready Tanker

Philly Shipyard, Inc. (PSI) Thursday announced that it held keel laying ceremony the same day for the third of four liquefied natural gas (LNG)-ready product tankers being built for American Petroleum Tankers (APT).
PSI says the 50,000 DWT product tanker will be built with numerous fuel efficiency features, and comply with Tier II and latest regulatory requirements.
As Ship & Bunker has previously reported, the four tankers were ordered through a $568 million agreement, with the final two vessels in the series slated for delivery by late 2017.
