Two more bulk carriers were arrested in Singapore on Sunday, according to the latest records from the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Data from VesselsValue.com indicates that Dong Won Shipping's South Korean flagged Ocean Star, and Archipelago Shipping's Greece-flagged Archimedes, were the fourth and fifth bulk carriers respectively to be arrested in the city state this month.

The 22,100 dwt, 1995-built Handy Ocean Star was arrested on instruction from local law firm Oon & Bazul LLP at 2:08pm local time.

The 2011-built, 81,100 dwt Panamax Archimedes was subsequently arrested at 7:15pm local time, following instruction from Asia Practice LLP.

At this time the exact circumstances leading to the arrests are currently unknown as it is rare for law firms to comment on such matters outside of formal proceedings, but such action is typical in instances of payment dispute.

The arrests follow that of Mare Traveller, which last week was the third bulk carrier to be arrested in Singapore during October.
