LNG Gorskaya Overseas OÜ (LNG Gorskaya Overseas) Friday announced that it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Estonia's Port of Pärnu for the development of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) centre at the harbour, which is set to include LNG bunkering.

Specifically, the centre will include floating storage of as much as 5,500 m3 in capacity, and a 1,300 m3 capacity bunkering vessel, as well as specialised pier and related infrastructure for storage and vessel bunkering.

The Port of Pärnu is noted to be the fifth Baltic port to have signed an agreement with LNG Gorskaya Overseas related to LNG storage and bunkering.

As Ship & Bunker reported last month, authorities of Mõntu Harbour signed a LOI with LNG Gorskaya Overseas for the development of a LNG bunkering centre at that harbour.

However, this month, the future of the development was thrown into question after Mihkel Undrest, a board member of port owner Mõntu Sadam AS, suggested that the Mõntu Harbour LNG centre would not proceed - at least not at the scale previously announced.
