Finnish fuel-saving technology company Eniram has been named in the 2014 Global Cleantech 100 rankings, which recognises the top private companies developing clean technology.

“We are thrilled to be receiving this prize from the Cleantech Group," said Henrik Dahl, Eniram CEO.

"Last year, we contributed to the reduction of emissions by 163,000 tons of CO2 (the equivalent to 32,000 cars) and have helped the shipping industry save millions of Euros in fuel costs.

"The achievements that we have made in the last few years are clear proof that our strategy is right.”

The rankings are meant to show the top 100 companies whose initiatives show the most potential are in place to make the highest impact in their industries

To qualify, companies must be independent, for-profit, clean technology companies that are not listed on any major stock exchange

“The Global Cleantech 100 each year provides us with invaluable insight into which companies key market players think are most likely to have a significant impact in the next 5-10 years,” said Richard Youngman, Cleantech Group’s managing director of Europe and Asia.

“How the composition of the Global Cleantech 100 list changes over time is revealing of key megatrends and hot sub-sectors – and helps us all get a view on the future.”

This year's Cleantech awards received a record 5,995 nominations fro 60 countries, and were judged by an 84-member panel.

Eniram was also the recipient of the The Energy Efficiency Solution Award at the inaugural 2014 Ship Efficiency Awards.
