LUKOIL-Bulgaria Bunker has begun operations at the Black Sea port of Midia in Romania, PortNews Informational-Analytical Agency (PortNews IAA) reports.

After receiving a required license, the company is now selling fuel oils and diesel fuels, with bunkering performed by LUKOIL-Bulgaria tanker Navi.

The company also provides bunkering services at Constanta, Romania, as well as the Bulgarian ports of Rousse, Vidin, Silistra, Lom, Bourgas, and Varna, and Kladovo, Serbia and the Danube river.

Parent company LUKOIL is Russia's largest oil company.

Fellow Russian bunker player Gazpromneft Marine Bunker entered the Romanian market in March with the acquisition of Constanta operator Marine Bunker Balkan S.A. and said it would expand into other ports in the country including Midia.

At the end of last year, LUKOIL-Bulgaria said it had increased its bunker sales by 10 percent between 2011 and 2012.
