Russia's Administration of Seaports of Primorsky Territory and Eastern Arctic says total sales of bunker fuel at the port of Vladivostok and its offshore terminals during the month of January were down 4 percent year on year, IAA PortNews reports.

Further, the number of bunkering operations at Vladivostok is noted to have declined from 243 to 227.

January sales at Vladivostok totalled to 35,800 tonnes, compared to 37,300 tonnes during the same period of 2016.

9,100 tonnes of the 35,800 tonnes sold during the month are noted to have been sold at the port's offshore terminals, while 26,600 tonnes were sold at the port.

Of the volume of bunkers sold in January, 29,600 tonnes was HFO.

The news of the port's decline in sales has been an ongoing story, with Ship & Bunker in October having reported that sales volume at Vladivostok for the nine months to September 2016 had declined to almost a third compared to the same period of 2015.
