Quadrise MSAR Emulsion Bunkers Ready for 2017 Commercial Operations
Maker of Multiphase Superfine Atomized Residue (MSAR) emulsion bunkers, Quadrise Fuels International plc (Quadrise), as part of its annual general meeting (AGM), said it is appropriately positioned to progress as planned to commercial operations during 2017.
"This has been a hugely important year in the development of Quadrise. Operationally our programmes continue to progress to plan, we have strengthened the team, and we were very encouraged by the strong positive response to our recent Placing and Open Offer," said Mike Kirk, Executive Chairman of Quadrise.
"The combination of these elements has clearly positioned the Company to progress to commercial operations during 2017 and we look forward to reporting continued progress during the year."
Quadrise offered a number of project and company updates, including providing confirmation that it is in discussions with a large Japanese engineering contractor related to cooperation on a study to identify prospective producers and consumers of MSAR within the Japanese market.
According to an announcement by the firm Martin Verle, former Global Services Director at Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS), will become the new General Manager Marine for Quadrise, effective January 2017.
The company says it has continued to receive positive feedback from Maersk Line on the performance of its MSAR bunkers, which are being utilised on a trial basis on one of the carrier's vessels.
Further to the company's signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in August 2016, Quadrise says it has been continuing to work collaboratively to move the large-scale production to combustion trial forward.
"Significant management resource has been dedicated to this work and, based on our latest discussions with our partners, we anticipate being able to enter into formal contracts during the first-half of 2017 and commence the trial during the second-half of the year," said Quadrise.
In September, Ship & Bunker reported that Quadrise had extended two contracts with Akzo Nobel N.V. (Akzo Nobel), which cover the exclusive purchase and supply of goods and services, and exclusive joint development of emulsion fuels, until at least November 2018.
