Robin Meech will become the new Chairman of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA), current Chairman Jens Maul Jorgensen has said in the latest edition of the organization's World Bunkering magazine.

Meech, who is currently IBIA vice-chairman, will take up the role in March 2016.

Intertek ShipCare Global Technical Manager Michael Green, who was elected to the IBIA Board of Directors in February 2014, will replace Meech as Vice-Chairman.

"I am delighted to hand over to such experienced and well respected people," wrote Jorgensen.

Bunker quality has been a core theme of Jorgensen's term as Chairman.

In October he hit out at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), accusing the organization of having "no idea" of the market from the owner and operator side.
