Bunker Prices Mostly on the Rise in the Americas

Most markets in the Americas saw gains Tuesday, with the exception of the North America Atlantic region, whose softening prices also included a a big drop of $21.50 for IFO380 in Norfolk.

Houston IFO380 moved up for a second consecutive day climbing $2.50 to $613.00 per metric tonne (pmt) gaining $14.50 in the past two weeks but down $10.00 over the month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) rose $13.00 to $717.00 pmt making a week-on-week gain of $10.50, and MGO was up $16.50 to $1017.00 pmt adding $15.50 to last Tuesday's price.

New York IFO380 was down for the first time since November 13, 2012 dropping $4.00 to $632.00 pmt, falling just $1.50 over the past month and losing $22.50 since August 20, 2012. LS380 moved down $7.00 for a second consecutive day moving the price to $708.00, and MGO jumped $25.00 to $1043.50 pmt up $36.00 week-on-week.

Los Angeles / Long Beach IFO380 fell for the first time since November 14, 2012 dropping $4.00 to $690.00 pmt, gaining $18.50 on last Tuesday's price and up $33.50 over the past month. LS380 was on the rise for a fifth consecutive market day climbing $2.50 to $784.00 pmt, adding $37.00 to last Tuesday's price and making today's premium for the low sulfur fuel $94.00 pmt.

New Orleans IFO380 moved up $1.00 to $621.50 pmt losing $8.00 over the last month and $34.50 over the previous three months. LS380 moved up $7.00 to $720.00 for a week-on-week gain of $11.50, and MGO was up $15.50 to $1022.00 pmt adding $21.50 to last Tuesday's price.

Vancouver IFO380 made gains for a second consecutive day rising $3.00 to $653.00 pmt up week-on-week by $28.50, LS380 climbed $3.50 to $920.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $267.00 pmt. MGO at the port moved up $0.50 to $1103.50 pmt up $17.50 on last Tuesday's price.
