North American Bunker Prices Continue to Rise

North American bunker prices continued to rise today, according to data from Ship & Bunker, as WTI lost $0.20 to settle at $92.92 per barrel.

Houston IFO380 climbed $4.50 to $625.00 per metric tonne (pmt), rising $4.50 week-on-week, and up $13.50 from December 3, 2012. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) rose $1.50 to $722.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $97.00 pmt. MGO moved down $7.50 to $1011.00 pmt, gaining $1.00 from last Thursday.

LA / Long Beach IFO380 moved up $14.50 to $647.50 pmt, $2.00 higher than last Thursday, and $15.50 lower than this time last month. LS380 was up $13.00 to $760.00 making the premium for the low sulfur product $112.50 pmt. MGO rose $10.00 to $1055.50 pmt, making a $17.50 gain month-on-month.

New Orleans IFO380 climbed $4.00 to $638.00 pmt, up $4.50 from last Thursday, and $7.00 higher than December 3, 2012. LS380 was up $5.00 to $731.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $93.00 pmt. MGO in New Orleans was down $2.50 to $1007.00 pmt, $14.00 lower month-on-month.

Vancouver IFO380 was up $3.50 to $640.00 pmt, rising $5.00 week-on-week, and $10.50 lower than December 3, 2012. LS380 moved down $6.50 to $886.00 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $246.00 pmt. MGO in the port fell $0.50 to $1078.50 pmt, up $1.50 from last Thursday.
