Bunker Prices Up on U.S. East, Gulf Coasts

The week closed with bunker prices climbing on the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts, as Ship & Bunker data showed IFO380 prices take a slight dip in the west.

Houston IFO380 moved up for a third consecutive day rising $1.50 to $653.50 per metric tonne (pmt), an increase of $5.50 week-on-week, and $17.00 month-on-month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) moved up $1.00 to $754.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $100.50 pmt. MGO rose $0.50 to $1058.50 pmt, up $22.00 since last Friday.

LA / Long Beach IFO380 climbed for a third consecutive day gaining $3.00 to $675.50 pmt, up $3.00 week-on-week, and $25.50 higher than this time last month. LS380 climbed $1.00 to $797.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $122.00 pmt. MGO rose $3.50 to $1099.00 pmt, $42.00 higher than last Friday.

New Orleans IFO380 moved up $1.00 to $655.50 pmt, gaining $1.50 since this time last week, and up $9.00 month-on-month. LS380 was up $0.50 to $749.50 making the premium for the ECA compliant fuel $94.00 pmt. MGO in the port rose $2.50 to $1059.00 pmt, up $23.00 week-on-week.

Vancouver IFO380 fell for the first time since January 25, 2013 slipping $0.50 to $658.50 pmt, $7.00 higher than last Friday, and an increase of $24.50 since January 8, 2013. LS380 moved down $2.50 to $899.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $240.50 pmt. MGO rose $3.00 to $1114.00 pmt, up $21.50 week-on-week.
