U.S. Bunker Prices Climb on Thursday

Bunker prices across the U.S. made gains today, but Ship & Bunker data showed that, as was seen at the end of last week, the U.S. Gulf and Caribbean as a whole had mixed movements.

Houston IFO380 moved up $1.50 to $652.00 per metric tonne (pmt), $11.50 higher than last Thursday, and up $14.50 month-on-month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) climbed $5.50 to $753.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $101.00 pmt. MGO moved up $4.00 to $1058.00 pmt, up $28.50 week-on-week.

LA / Long Beach IFO380 rose $2.00 to $672.50 pmt, $5.50 higher than last Thursday, and up $22.50 since January 7, 2013. LS380 climbed $6.50 to $796.50 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $124.00 pmt. MGO was up $11.00 to $1095.50 pmt, rising $41.00 week-on-week.

New Orleans IFO380 moved up $1.00 to $654.50 pmt, an increase of $6.50 since last Thursday, and up $9.50 month-on-month. LS380 moved up $0.00 to $749.00 making the premium for the low sulfur product $94.50 pmt. MGO in the port climbed $5.00 to $1056.50 pmt, gaining $26.00 week-on-week.

Vancouver IFO380 rose for a ninth consecutive market day up $3.50 to $659.00 pmt, $9.00 higher than this time last week, and an increase of $23.00 month-on-month. LS380 moved up $6.00 to $901.50 making the premium for the ECA compliant fuel $242.50 pmt. MGO fell for the first time since January 28, 2013 down $0.50 to $1111.00 pmt, $19.50 higher than last Thursday.
