Bunker prices in the Americas were generally firm as the week came to a close, with Ship & Bunker data showing IFO380 in Los Angeles / Long Beach making a fifth consecutive day of gains.
Houston IFO380 ended the week climbing for a second consecutive day rising $1.50 to $631.00 per metric tonne (pmt), up $4.50 week-on-week, and $17.00 higher than December 25, 2012. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) climbed $1.50 to $730.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $99.00 pmt. MGO moved up for a fourth consecutive day rising $0.50 to $1018.00 pmt, an increase of $9.00 since last Friday.
LA / Long Beach IFO380 moved up $6.00 to $643.50 pmt, up $20.50 week-on-week, and an increase of $12.00 since December 25, 2012. LS380 moved up $3.50 to $773.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $130.00 pmt. MGO rose $2.50 to $1035.00 pmt, $9.50 higher than this time last week.
New Orleans IFO380 climbed $0.50 to $640.50 pmt, up $7.00 week-on-week, and $15.00 higher than December 25, 2012. LS380 dropped $1.50 to $735.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $95.00 pmt. MGO in the port slipped $0.00 to $1018.00 pmt, an increase of $2.50 since last Friday.
Vancouver IFO380 slipped $1.00 to $638.00 pmt, an increase of $0.50 week-on-week, and up $6.00 month-on-month. LS380 fell $0.50 to $881.00 making the premium for the ECA compliant fuel $243.00 pmt. MGO in Vancouver climbed $5.50 to $1072.00 pmt, $5.50 higher week-on-week.
