Americas Bunker Price Movements Lack Direction

Tuesday's IFO bunker prices on North America's Pacific Coast saw gains today in what was otherwise a day of mostly small, mixed movements for the Americas, Ship & Bunker data showed.

Houston IFO380 moved down for the first time since February 5, 2013 falling $1.50 to $652.50 per metric tonne (pmt), $5.00 higher than last Tuesday, and up $24.50 month-on-month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) moved down $1.00 to $754.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $101.50 pmt. MGO remained at $1063.00 pmt, up $14.00 week-on-week.

LA / Long Beach IFO380 climbed for a fifth consecutive market day rising $2.50 to $696.00 pmt, $26.50 higher than this time last week, and up $51.50 from the price on January 14, 2013. LS380 climbed $9.00 to $818.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $122.50 pmt. MGO in the port dropped $4.00 to $1097.50 pmt, $18.50 higher than last Tuesday.

New Orleans IFO380 fell for the first time since February 4, 2013 slipping $2.50 to $654.50 pmt, $1.00 higher than last Tuesday, and up $14.00 month-on-month. LS380 slipped $4.50 to $746.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $92.00 pmt. MGO rose $2.50 to $1064.00 pmt, an increase of $14.50 week-on-week.

Vancouver IFO380 climbed $5.00 to $664.00 pmt, making a gain of $9.00 week-on-week, and up $30.00 since January 14, 2013. LS380 was up $2.00 to $906.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $242.50 pmt. MGO in Vancouver made a jump of $22.50 to $1139.50 pmt, the highest price since $1142.00 on October 19, 2012, and a week-on-week gain of $36.50.
