BP Singapore Pte Ltd. (BP) has retained its position as Singapore's biggest bunker supplier by volume in 2014, with the latest official data from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) showing there was no change to the top five suppliers by volume last year.

MPA says this is the eleventh consecutive year that BP has held the top spot in the world's biggest bunkering port by volume.

Sentek Marine & Trading Pte. Ltd., Transocean Oil Pte. Ltd., SK Energy International Pte Ltd., and Shell Eastern Trading (Pte) Ltd. all retained their respective positions at second, third, fourth, and fifth on MPA's annual list of its top 20 suppliers.

Tankoil Marine Services Pte. Ltd. (Tankoil), who in 2012 were ranked just 66th on the list, improved on last year's placing of seventh to move into sixth place for 2014.

The company made headlines in recent months after being implicated in an alleged $125 million fraud at Dynamic Oil Trading.

Global Energy Trading Pte Ltd, who placed sixth last year, dropped into seventh place.

Exxonmobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, who in May told Ship & Bunker it was seeing "strong demand" as it continued to embrace MPA approved mass flow meter (MFM) technology, was rewarded by moving up three places from 11th in 2013 to eighth in 2014.

Universal Energy Pte Ltd, previously placed eighth, and Singapore Petroleum Company Limited, in the 15th spot for 2013, rounded out the top ten at ninth and tenth respectively.

The now defunct O.W. Bunker Far East (S) Pte Ltd moved up two places to 11th for 2014, while Aegean Bunkering (Singapore) Pte Ltd, the Singaporean arm of Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc. [NYSE: ANW] (Aegean) who in recent weeks have made a number of operational expansions in the wake of the collapse of OW Bunker, dropped back to 22nd place for 2014 from 17th in the previous year.

Hong Lam Marine Pte Ltd was the biggest mover, dropping 24 places from 38th in 2013 to 62nd in 2014, closely followed by Sirius Marine Pte Ltd, who slipped back 23 places to 37th in 2014 from 14th the previous year.

Raffles Bunkering Pte Ltd and Triton Bunkering Services Pte Ltd took the title for the biggest positive move for 2014, both gaining 18 places to 34th and 42nd respectively.

Total bunker sales in 2014 remained flat at 42.4 million metric tonnes (mt), slightly behind the 42.7 million mt sold in both 2012 and 2013.
